Shri B.P. Baishya, M.P., former Union Minister has been unanimously selected as IWF President

Meeting of General Council of Indian Weightlifting Federation was held at Delhi on 27 Dec 09 for election of office bearers and Executive Members of the Indian Weightlifting Federation for term of 4 years from 2009 to 2013 at Conference Hall, Hotel Southern, 18/2, Arya Samaj Road, Karol Bagh, New Delhi.

The following office bearers have been elected unanimously:-

1. Shri Birendra Prasad Baishya, M.P. - President

2. Shri Sahdev Yadav                       - Secretary General

3.   Shri Naresh Sharma                    - Treasurer

The election was held in the presence of IOA observer Shri Mukesh Kumar, Executive Member, Indian Olympic Association.
