
ANTI-DOPING REGULATIONS
(with amendment upto 5.9.07)
1. Indian Weightlifting Federation (IWF) has the right to conduct doping controls throughout the year on both in and out of competition.
2. The selection of events is made to IWF and must include senior, junior and youthNational Weightlifting Championships and before departure of weightlifting teams for International Competitions.
3. Doping control is a part of the competition. The host affiliated member unit will haveto arrange for board and lodging of the dope control team of Sports Authority of India(SAI).
4. The sample taking is performed by a Doctor / Doctors appointed by SAI and they carry out and coordinate the collection and transportation of the samples to the SAI laboratory at New Delhi. They assure the safekeeping of the samples, perform the technical work, fill out the pertaining documents and keep the records.
5. After the competition, the selected athlete must immediately appear in the doping control room on receipt of the notice or at the time indicated in the notice.
6. Taking of samples must be carried out according to the relevant anti-doping rules of the IOC.
7. The Analysis of the samples is carried out in the SAI Laboratory at New Delhi. When a result is positive, the laboratory must indicate on the report the name of the substance(s) detected and submit a written report to IWF.
8. Refusal to submit to doping control has the same disciplinary consequences as it found positive for anabolic steroids in the test.
9. Lifter has a right to ask for analysis of 'B' sample. For this the member unit concernedmust sent a written application to IWF along with fee which may be determined from time to time within 3 days of pronouncement of dope test result.
10. The IWF shall provisionally suspend an athlete after receiving adverse analytical findings "The suspension will remain in force until report of 'B' sample is received or an athlete accepts the Adverse Analytical Findings and appropriate sanctions will be imposed".
11. After the receipt of results of 'B' sample test and in the event of the returning positive the following rules prevail.

Unit failing to pay the fine within 60 days of the demand from Indian Weightlifting Federation

Banned from taking part in any competition till fine is paid. Lifter of suspended and defaulting Units cannot participate from other Units except in the case of a lifter getting employment and has not tested positive. |

Action regarding All India Sports Council / Promotion Boards /Association who do not introduce Dope Test in their all India Competitions
|
No qualified Technical official of Indian Weightlifting Federation shall be nominated for such competitions. If qualified technical officials who are employees of respective organizations officiate in their all India Competitions the Indian Weightlifting Federation shall not nominate / invite such Technical Officials for National / All India / Zonal Competitions. |
